Praying For Healing & Oxygen Saturation
Three doctors have been in this morning: the pulmonary doc, the kidney doc and the cardiologist. Brian’s oxygen sat. is 85%. They started his feeding again. The pulmonary doc says he’s basically the same and they’re supporting him to give his lungs a chance to heal. I’m thankful that his vitals are stable. The kidney doc says his ABG was 55, they would like to see it at 60 or higher. The cardiologist said his heart rate is normal, no atrial fibrillation that he was experiencing before (He thinks that may have been due to low potassium). They are supplementing him with potassium. Please pray that the inflammation in his lungs continues to heal with healthy tissue and that his oxygen saturation goes way up so they can decrease the amount of oxygen they’re giving him via the ventilator. (Right now they’re giving him 100% oxygen. If he gets into trouble and needs more oxygen, we cannot give him more because he’s already getting 100% of his oxygen from the ventilator). Thank you! “…the blind men came up to Him, and Jesus asked them, “Do you believe that I AM ABLE to do this?” They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.” ~ Matthew 9:28...

The nurse just said normally they do a chest X-ray after inserting a feeding tube, but the doctor decided to leave Brian alone for the night and let him rest and get his saturation numbers back up. Tomorrow they will take a chest X-ray to check the position of the feeding tube. I couldn’t agree more!

Brian’s oxygen sat. number was at 84%, but it is currently 83% and climbing because they had to reinsert a new feeding tube into his throat as the old one was clogged. The nurse gave him a small dose of the paralytic drug so he wouldn’t move or de-sat while she did the procedure. I’m so thankful for baby steps in the right direction. Whew! “The Lord Himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.” Exodus 14:14

This happened earlier today: The kidney doctor said he sees Brian’s condition as virtually unchanged. He said, “He is still in very critical condition. He still has a lot of lines & drips” (I.V. lines, endotracheal tubes & drugs) going into him. “He could go either way,” he said. Still, I’m hopeful. “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” ~ Jeremiah 29:11

Brian’s nurse said he had a good night. His oxygen sat. at 7:30am is 89-90. Yesterday, his doctor said he has some fluid in his lungs and some lung stiffness. Please pray that Brian makes healthy lung tissue and that there are no complications. Also please pray that there is no brain damage. His color is good and he is totally off the paralytic med. Thank God. “When I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid.” ~ Psalm 56:3-4
